Sasha Tonight

Posts have been rather thin as of the last few days. I have been a boring guy. Work all day at the office, get some dinner, work all night at JJ’s Market. What can I say, the paper and poster for [NSREC](http://www.nsrec.com) is coming along nicely. I never realized just how much work it takes to get something published, though I fully expect it to get easier each time I do it.

On the “Trying not to be boring and lame” front, I am going to see [Sasha](http://www.djsasha.com) tonight. I temporarily lost my camera last week, so there are no pictures of Tiesto. I hope to return with at least a few pictures of Sasha.

Tony, a friend of mine from my Austin days sent me a link to [this music video](http://lilasianbabee.fasthost.tv/yougotbeef.wmv) yesterday and I am totally speechless. The video is of a Vietnamese rapper that goes by the name “ChucKie AkeNz” and features is crew known as “V-UNIT”. Let me see if I can summarize the plot before delving into the details. The story starts with a small, overweight Vietnamese boy playing basketball in the park when some big evil black guys come and take his ball from him. The boy, who’s probably a fourth grader or so runs away and calls Chuckie on his cell phone.

Chuckie gets pissed off at the bullies because according to the lyrics: “Don’t fuck with the gooks thats the #1 rule” and rounds up his posse to go regulate.

There’s a gathering of the troops and during which our hero ChucKie flashes a gun sign while rapping: **”Drop you to the ground like ducks from Nintendo”**.

Check out that posse. I’d be afraid if a blue neon and a honda civic rolled up too and proceed to fight the two black guys, 50 or so Vietnamese to 2 black guys. To make it better, the Viet-kiddies pull things out of their pants like 2 foot long machetes and an uzis. The video ends with the black guys trying to scale the fence to get away from the posse, the posse trapping them, and they disappear into the crowd of angry asians who feel big for administering a serious beat-down in a 50 to 2 fight.

I just really don’t know what to say to this video. I’d be embarrased more than anything. The world is already full of people who front about everything, but most of them at least attempt to make a story thats believable. This guy is a joke, his posse all drives Neons and Hondas. Not very bling, now is it?

Part of me really wants to believe that this is supposed to be some sort of parrody, but try as I might, I find no indication that this is a joke. Nope, apparently ChucKie thinks that his posse of Honda’s and Neons is tough and that everyone better recognize.

Honestly, I don’t even know where to begin with this one. I’m looking forward to your comments. And remember, I’m half Japanese, which means, if you got beef with me, you betta watch yo back, **sucka** or I be on my celly callin up my posse.

Earlier today I picked up the new Tiesto Single - Love Comes Again and I can’t get it out of my head. The chorus is absolutely beautiful and features BT on the mic. According to allnightclubs.com:

Unlike other collaborations with fellow-producers, BT does not push any buttons, but actually provides the vocals for this innovative production.

I’m not sure when BT decided to start singing so much, but I approve. The vocals are great and this song will not get out of my head. I can’t wait to go see Tiesto the 16th of June.
