Michael Moore taking one for the team.

In an interesting move, I found out today at [this link](http://www.michaelmoore.com/words/message/index.php?messageDate=2004-09-06) that Michael Moore will not be going for an Oscar this year. Fahrenheit 9/11 was a great movie and would almost certainly win the award but MM wants to get the movie on TV before the election. There is apparently an Oscar rule that would be in conflict with this goal, so in typical MM fashion, he’s just going to ignore the rule and forfeit his Oscar.

He does warn that getting it on TV is an unlikely goal, but what a blow it would be if he was able to do so! Check out the article (linked above) for more details.

I read that the movie was already aired on Cuban TV which DQ’ed him to begin with. But, this is a good excuse for him too.

You post this but no pics from this weekend! Yarrrrrhh!!

I wish this site could bounce responses back to other posters, because this is for Dan…

I heard the copy shown on tv in cuba was a bootleg, and therefore did not DQ him.

    The plot thickens.

according to that, he apparently wants to go for “Best Picture,” not “Best Documentary,” and doesn’t know if the TV deal will work out or not.

then again, that’s from cnn.com, so who knows what’s really going on?

Who is that someone else? And how does that benefit us? Because that’s what we’re all here for. Benefits.
